Award Description
To acknowledge and honor an individual who has made a lasting and meaningful impact to the NSP FCT.
Eligibility Requirements
- Any physiotherapist who has been a member of NSP for at least 20 years
- NSP FCT member for a minimum of 10 years
- Be willing to provide the Keynote Speech at the NSP FCT Dinner and Awards ceremony
- Current Executives  are not eligible to be nominated for this award
Criteria for Selection
Service contributions by nominee:
- Will forever effect the Association
- Represent a watershed moment for the Association
What Recipients Receive
The recipient will present the Keynote Speech and receive an award at the NSP FCT Dinner and Awards ceremony.
Submission Requirements
The following documents will be required for submission:
- A letter of nomination specifically focused on the strengths of the nominee in relation to the award criteria, not to exceed 3 pages.
- 3 letters of support from individuals who can specifically address one or more of the criteria for selection, not to exceed 2 pages each.
- Curriculum vitae or resume of the nominee
- Submission Deadline: July 3rd

ELDER FANIRAN AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE
In recognition of a physiotherapist who has provided exceptional service on an NSP FCT Committee or Task Force.
Award Description
In recognition of a physiotherapist who has provided exceptional service on an NSP FCT Committee or Task Force.
Eligibility Requirements
Any physiotherapist who is a member of NSP FCT
Criteria for Selection
Service contributions should be of exceptional value to the NSP FCT:
- Service on NSP FCT Committee or Task Force resulted in significant and measurable change(s) for the advancement of the Association
- Quality and direct impact of service rather than the duration of continuity of service
What Recipients Receive
An award will be presented to the recipient at the NSP FCT Dinner and Awards ceremony.

- A letter of nomination specifically focused on the strengths of the nominee in relation to the award criteria, not to exceed 2 pages.

EMERGING LEADER AWARD
To acknowledge and honor an intern Physiotherapist who exhibits superior scholastic achievement and has made significant contributions to the professional organization and promotion of physiotherapy.

Award Description
To acknowledge and honor an intern physiotherapist who exhibit superior scholastic achievement and has made significant contributions to the professional organization and promotion of physiotherapy.
Eligibility Requirements
1.Demonstrated involvement in a NSP and NSP FCT meetings and advocacy events (Monthly meeting, state or national conference.
2. Nominee must be in good academic standing at their University (program director or faculty advisor provides letter)
3. Demonstrated a commitment and involvement in the promotion of physiotherapy and community service (e.g. organizing or participating in community events such as world physiotherapy day).
4. Demonstrated leadership amongst peers.
5. Demonstrated significant contributions to NSP/NSP-FCT – (e.g. speaking to students, co-interns about the benefits of belonging
Submission Requirements
- The nominator is responsible for submitting a letter of support and the following documents
• One letter from a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant supporting the strengths of the nominee in relation to award criteria
• One letter from the University or HOD speaking to the academic excellence of the student
• Curriculum Vitae/Resume of the candidate - Submission Deadline: July 3rd

OUTSTANDING INTERN AWARD
To recognize a member who demonstrates extraordinary service early in his or her physiotherapy career.

Award Description
To identify and honor one physiotherapist who is an NSP FCT Â member who demonstrates extraordinary service early in his or her physiotherapy careers. These individuals should have made exceptional overall accomplishments and contributions to the NSP-FCT and the physiotherapy profession to advance NSP FCT vision of improving the health, wellness and quality of life of people in federal capital territory Abuja.
Eligibility Requirements
- The nominee must be a current member of NSP/NSP-FCT for at least 2 years (including student membership) and no more than 5 years from formal graduation from an accredited physiotherapy program.
- The nominee must have current or prior service on one or more appointed or elected groups as a student, state chapter or national level.
Submission Requirements
- One Physiotherapist who is an NSP FCT member may be awarded annually using the procedures detailed below. The following information must be included in the nomination packet.
- A nomination letter detailing the nominee’s contributions, including the following:
- Examples of demonstrated service to the Association, component, or physiotherapy profession.
- Explanation of the potential for future contributions to NSP FCTand physiotherapy profession.
- Examples of how the nominee has advanced activities at different level.
- Curriculum vitae of the nominee.

EXCELLENCE IN CLINICAL PRACTICE AWARD
To recognize physiotherapists who exudes outstanding clinical practice.
Award Description
The purpose of this award is to physiotherapist who exudes outstanding clinical practice.
Eligibility Requirements
- The physiotherapist will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience
• The physiotherapist will will be members of the NSP FCT for at least 2 years.
• The physiotherapist will be a clinical instructor and participate in educating one or more interns and students per year.
The physiotherapist will participate in community and charity events/volunteer activities with a minimum of 8 hours per year.
• The physiotherapist will demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning and evidenced based practice through continuing education greater than the 24 hours required per licensure period, Post–professional residency, Post-professional degrees, Post-professional certifications or specialization in Physiotherapy Postgraduate college
Criteria for Selection
Nominees must have demonstrated:
- Exceptional clinical and mentoring skills.
• Excellence as a clinical instructor and be a role model for interns, students and peers.
• Professional commitment to physiotherapist through community activities
• Post professional commitment to life long learning in the quest towards excellence.
What Recipients Receive
An award will be presented to the recipient at the NSP FCT Dinner and Awards ceremony.
Submission Requirements
The following documents will be required for submission:
- A letter of nomination specifically focused on the strengths of the nominee in relation to the award criteria, not to exceed 3 pages.
• Two letters of support from individuals who can specifically address one or more of the criteria for selection, not to exceed 2 pages each. One of the letters of recommendation should come from a patient who has received care from the individual. The patient should be instructed NOT to divulge any protected healthcare information.
• Curriculum vitae or resume of the nominee.
• Evidence of post professional continuing education, certifications or specializations

Outstanding PT Researcher Award
To acknowledge an individual who has made significant contributions to physiotherapy through excellence in research.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- A physiotherapist who
- is a current member of the NSP FCT
- has practiced in FCT for at least five years immediately prior to the nomination and must not
- is employed in any setting appropriate for physiotherapist
- has performed sustained and outstanding basic, clinical, and/or educational research that must pertain to physiotherapy and physiotherapy practice.
- has published scientific studies within appropriate refereed scientific and/or professional publications.
- has presented scientific studies orally to the appropriate audiences.
- The total research and scholarly output of the individual must represent a continuity of professional commitment to physio
What Recipients Receive
An award will be presented to the recipient at the NSP FCT Dinner and Awards ceremony.
Submission requirement
- Any member of NSP FCT may submit nominations.
- Nominations are made by submitting an electronic nomination form and submission of supporting documents.
- Current curriculum vitae of the nominee.
- Letter of nomination.
- Reprints of three to seven scientific papers published by refereed journals that present clear evidence of sustained and outstanding The scientific papers should be selected to present the entire body of work of the nominee, and do not necessarily have to be the most current works. If more references are needed in order to make a decision, the task force will request those from the nominator.
- Extraneous documents (that is those not required or in excess of requirements) will not be considered.
- Individuals nominated and not selected for the Award may be nominated in any subsequent year by submission of the new nomination packet. Previously submitted materials will not be used.

NSP FCT Grants
NSP FCT is pleased to award these monetary grants to members for the promotion of physiotherapy Awareness and entrepreneurship and research.
The Grant is administered as a commitment to assisting Physiotherapist in Abuja  in areas of Research, Physiopreneurship, promotion of the awareness of physiotherapy through  their relations with the public and patients
Applicant proposals will be given special consideration for programs supporting the Research, Innovation, and Awareness campaign  to help prevent further limitations to the mobility and function of the human condition, and restore and improve long-term quality of life.
Please note, the mission of this grant is to support Community based projects that increase awareness of the Physiotherapy profession. This grant does NOT support traditional research studies
Review of Process
Members of the NSP FCT  Awards and honor  Committee, Ex-officio shall be the initial independent reviewers of all proposals and will determine if the submission meets the criteria for community awareness.
Criteria will be based on the following:
- Significance of the project covering any area in Research, Enterpreneurship, Promotion of Awareness of Physiotherapy in Nigeria.
- Potential for successful completion (within year of grant award)
- Appropriateness of budget (funds are restricted to project – funds may not be used for administrative overhead)
- Will increase employment oppurtunities for physiotherapist.
Application for Submission
- Submit your proposal.
- Evidence of membership to NSP and NSP FCT.
- Budget: Itemized table listing expenses & narrative budget justifying expenses – resources required
Award of Grant
NSP FCT Grant will be awarded at the NSP FCT Dinner and Award Ceremony.
Grant Range: #300,000 (multiple grants can be awarded in the same grant year)
